In 1990, Bergstrom Air Force Base, which is the main military facility in the Travis County area, is considered as a site for possible closure, at which time it is also considered as a possible site for a new international airport, since Robert Mueller Airport is no longer enough to support a large population and a number of brochures as Travis County expanded.
