Arguably the number one destination for flights from Britain to India is Delhi. Airlines are now available from most UK international airports including:
Birmingham Bristol Glasgow Leeds Bradford London Gatwick London Heathrow Manchester Newcastle
A direct flight to Jakarta from the UK should be between 8.5 hours to 9.5 hours, depending on your actual departure airport, plus wind and weather conditions. Many flights offered online will not fly directly to Jakarta, but will involve at least one stop en-route, usually in the country's airlines. This will not be long direct flight would be determined by the number and length of stops. Be sure to check your flight itinerary when booking flights. There will always be direct flights, but not always, will be cheaper.
At the Indira Gandhi International Airport - All Delhi flights to the UK, will arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), Terminal 2. Renovation of the international terminal at Delhi airport, finally finished although more improvements are planned. Airport has been notorious for large groups, clutter, noise, and slow the progress of the queue length. Private airport operator Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said that these issues are now a thing of the past. But must remain visible. I have heard that the number of immigration counters have been increased but is still a barrier. More immigration officers have been used in an effort to correct the problem. Similarly, the number of departure check-in counter has been increased, but do not forget to arrive in plenty of time. This is still not possible that you will enjoy the quick passage through the airport if arriving or departing. Visitor arrivals in the International Terminal Area you will find banks, bureaux of change and ATMs.
ATM is also available in the domestic terminal, if you transfer to the internal flight. Airport Domestic Terminal consists of 1A, Terminal 1B and Domestic Arrival terminal. Airlines domestic flights out of India and National Alliance Air operate from Terminal 1A. Jet Airways, Air Sahara, executive aircraft and private aviation companies operating from Terminal 1B. You'll find the Domestic Terminal is only 5 kilometers (3 miles) from the International Terminal 2. A free bus service that connects the two operate every 30 minutes.
The city center is 16 km (10 miles) from the airport. Bus Delhi airport departure center, operating 24 hours a day and with the transfer time about 45 minutes. Measured can be found in a taxi outside the airport, but in order to eliminate any uncertainty over fares, it could be considered better to use pre-paid taxi is available via taxi at the arrival counter. Travel time by taxi to the city center is about 30 minutes.
Delhi is often considered as the gate of entry to Indonesia, but worth considering as your holiday destination. There is much to be done in and around the city and surrounding areas. Places of interest abound, museums, monuments and ancient bazaars and contrast, 21st century glass and steel shopping malls.
